I thank God for days like this...
days where I’m surrounded by my children doing the things we love. But, it wasn’t always like this…😩🥴 I remember the days when I would cry out to God for children. Feeling broken and helpless because my body wasn’t doing what a woman’s body is normally supposed to do. There were moments where the only encouragement I could find was having my husband read Hannah’s story (1 Samuel 1 &2).
It wasn’t easy to wait and watch others get the blessing I so desperately wanted for myself. But, I knew that in order to receive, I had to rejoice with others until it was my turn.
I did and I was encouraged. I also got to a point where I began to hold God to His word. If His word declared it, then He could do it. If not, He would be classified as a liar, and we all know God doesn’t lie 💯. So I continued to bombard heaven by myself and with others. We fasted and prayed until His promise became a Yes and an Amen in my life. After 5 years, our first daughter was born! God came through 🙌🏾.
Did it take a while? Yes! Did I have to do some travailing? Yes! Did I have to repent because I opened doors that should have never been opened? Yes! Was it easy? No! Was it worth it? Absolutely!
Some of you have been waiting on God for a while for His promises to be fulfilled in your life. Maybe you’ve stopped praying, stopped believing and are now weary. You’re possibly bitter, resentful, and maybe you’re in a state of rebellion because disappointment has set in 😩. I understand, I’ve been there too 😬.
Let me encourage you today. Don’t give up on the promises of God! When Jesus taught His disciples to pray the Our Father, one part that always sticks out to me is “thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This tells me that there are two worlds at work. What happens in heaven and what happens on earth. In order for us to see heaven on earth in our lives, we have to pray it through.
There are tons of biblical stories that confirms that to be true and Jesus was no exception to that rule. He prayed, okay!!! From feeding the 5,000 to raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus had to pray to manifest some things on earth as it is in heaven! As the ultimate teacher and ultimate sacrifice, he paved the way so we can know what to do when the time came. And He promises greater works we shall do.
The Bible tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
I am living proof, that God’s promises are true. I have three living testimonies that He watches over His word to accomplish it. Trust God, believe, have faith, persevere, and you too will overcome! ✨💙
